Getting Started
Before you can drive a car, you'll need.
To be 17 years old and hold a veiled provisional driving license. You can apply for your provisional license before your 17th birthday. To get a license pick up application forms D1 and D750 from the post office or apply online at the DVLA website. Sent this to the DVLA together with you passport or birth certificate and a passport sized photo as ID.
You will need your provisional license before you can take any lessons, Although you can book lessons in advance of receiving your provisional license.
Before starting your lessons it is a good idea to obtain and start reading The Highway Code. There are various other books and CD's on the market that are useful to have. I can advise you on these on the first lesson or alternatively if you wish to buy any books before your lessons then please contact me for advice on the best ones.
Driving in GB on a foreign licence
Do you have a foreign licence? You can usually drive on them for 12 months after entering the UK and you may be able to exchange it for a UK licence. If you require more details then you need to contact the DVLA. You may need to take a UK test - I can help you.
